Callum Brennan writes about work: how people find it, keep it and grow in it, and how organisations can open their doors to people who have been shut out. His articles for The Create Foundation cover CVs and interviews, entry routes into hospitality and events, workplace confidence, and the everyday realities of starting a new job after time away.
Before turning to writing, Callum spent several years in careers guidance and employability support. He worked one-to-one with job seekers and alongside employers, colleges and charities across the North of England. That experience shapes his practical, no-jargon style. He would rather give readers three things they can do this week than a page of theory.
Callum also writes about social enterprise and purpose-led business. He’s interested in how community interest companies and co-operatives fund themselves, how social value is measured and reported, and how buyers and procurement teams can use their spending to support local people. He’s especially keen on the unglamorous details, from pricing and cash flow to partnerships, that decide whether a good idea lasts.
Away from his desk, Callum volunteers as an interview mentor, plays five-a-side badly but enthusiastically, and is slowly working through a stack of books on economics and urban history. He lives in Manchester and is always happy to hear from readers with questions or ideas for future articles.
